We operate a national UK service. Our mobile blasting units travel to all parts of the country.
Locally, we have two blasting facilities where we do our preparation work for grit blasting, paint spraying and powder coating. (This is sometimes known as shotblasting, sandblasting and is generally blast cleaning).
Our blasting facilities are in Andover and Devizes. In Andover we are based at Lopcombe in Jack’s Bush Farm. In Devizes, we are situated in the quaint village of Market Lavington. Our blasting facilities service our local clients which include large engineering firms, arboriculture equipment suppliers, fleet suppliers, agricultural equipment manufacturers and many more.

As we approach the end of 2018, we are taking this opportunity to take at look at the breadth and scale of work we do now. Its remarkable how much we have grown in the last 12 months, and the level of work we do at Grit Blasting UK.
Our work in surface preparation and paint spraying continues at pace. We have always offered a UK-wide service using our mobile blasting/surface preparation team, but the importance of having local blasting and preparation premises grows each year.
During 2018 we acquired a reputable Shot Blasting business based in Hampshire. We will now incorporate that work into the Grit Blasting UK group, enabling us to reach out to new clients and contractors in and around Andover, Salisbury, Taunton, Winchester, Yeovil and surrounding areas. Our Wiltshire based premises in Devizes continues to serve the county’s needs and ensures our capacity for both smaller and larger surface preparation, blasting and paint spraying work remains high for our clients and contractors who rely on our work.
From agricultural equipment to garden furniture, JCB’s to grain stores, Warehouse frontages and concrete flooring to steel bridges and Wind turbines, Grit Blasting UK provides a national service in large and smaller scale surface preparation.
We also continue to invest in our fleet of vehicles and equipment which keeps us at the forefront of our industry. Investment in high quality equipment and skilled teams ensures we maintain our reputation. We also took the fun opportunity to sponsor Tor Trucks this year in their annual FIA Tor Trucks European Racing Championship, making sure Grit Blasting UK gets in on the European scene!
Partnerships are key
Partnerships are important for our work, and we continue to develop our relationships with suppliers and partners. Promain Paints and Grit Blasting UK are working on jointly marketing our paint and surface preparation services, enabling us to offer seamless and more effective marketing. And we are testing our social media marketing over the coming months to engage further with our existing and new clients. Check out our new facebook page!
Having skilled and experienced people who really know surface preparation is key. We are delighted to have a great team, and as we grow, we are looking for new people to help grow our business too. We have a set up a new recruitment page on Indeed.
So, with so much going on we are delighted to keep our valued clients, contractors and partners informed of our progress. Check back here regularly to see the latest news and updates.
One of the UK’s leading Grit blasting companies has invested in the latest technology from the United States.
Grit blasting UK, owned by Kierien Barnes from Trowbridge in Wiltshire continues to grow its surface preparation and paint spraying business. Earlier this year the company moved to larger premises in Devizes with outdoor blasting facilities. Now, they have purchased the latest in mobile diamond grinding technology for use in indoor blasting.
Purchased from SPE International in Washington DC USA, the Predator 2400 is the “new boy” in Grit blasting UK’s armoury of diamond floor grinders and polishers. Designed to tackle any size of job imaginable, this tool makes light work of the projects that Kierien’s company are now handling. The Predator 2400 excels at removing stubborn coatings including sealers and adhesives as well as polishing concrete.
Kierien explains “We are seeing more and more floor preparation projects in our contracted work, and with “out of town” warehouses and factory space becoming more popular, Gritblasting UK is taking on contacts for clients with much larger floor areas in need of preparation for example.”
It is not just the technology that is important. Grit blasting have been experts in their field for over 20 years, starting initially in Wiltshire and now undertaking major work across the United Kingdom. Investing in technology is just one of the many requirements of the modern-day grit blaster, along with a deep understanding of the science behind the materials and the paint applications as well and the safety needs of the work and the after-care of the materials.
Larger construction and engineering companies now rely on Grit blasting UK as a preferred sub-contractor because of their reliability and experience. From massive steel bridges to wind turbines to 5000 square feet warehouses, Grit blasting UK boasts an impressive client list.
